Toronto's Roncesvalles is into the second phase of its reconstruction. Roncesvalles Renewed is a group of residents, business owners, politicians, city planners, and transportation officials working together.
Our key priority was to ensure that plans include the conditions necessary for trees to flourish. We also planned for better sidewalks and improved public spaces to create an avenue that all would enjoy. These plans are now undersay. To show your support for a great street and to help our businesses get through this final phase, please buy and dine locally.

From City Councillor Gord Perks:
I apologize for the late notice. But staff have only confirmed today that they will proceed with drilling boreholes within the track allowance this weekend on Roncesvalles. Please see the City of Toronto Public Notice for further information.
As communicated in previous emails Technical Services needs to take some soil samples especially in the sewer line and to do so they will have to drill holes in the road. Each hole takes 1.5hrs and they estimate that 10 - 15 samples are needed. The borehole locations are as follows: Queen, Grafton, Marion, Galley, Garden, Wright, Constance, Grenadier, Geoffrey, Fermanagh, Neepawa, Howard Pk. Ritchie and Boustead.
The City and TTC have coordinated the work to try to minimize disruptions to traffic and streetcar service. To that end, the borehole drilling within the streetcar track allowance on Roncesvalles Avenue has been scheduled for the following dates:
9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday, March 28, 2009
9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 29, 2009
